Welcome to Absolute Colour Printing Sydney, where your printing dreams come to life in the heart of Sydney! We know printing can sometimes feel like a maze of pixels and paper types, but don’t worry – we’re here to make it as smooth and enjoyable as possible. Let’s dive into some common questions with a sprinkle of fun and a dash of warm-heartedness.
Do We Offer Price Breaks for Larger Quantities?
Absolutely! Bigger jobs mean bigger savings. For more details, give us a call on 1300 88 99 59. We love a good chat which is why you will never be left talking to a machine!
What Resolution Should I Save My Photos and Graphics At?
To make your images pop, set your resolution to 300 dpi at the final size. Internet graphics often come in at a measly 72 dpi – not great for printing, unless you’re into that pixelated, blocky look (we’re not).
Pro Tip: Save all your images in CMYK mode for the best results. RGB might be fine for screens, but for printing, it’s a no-go. If you’re stuck, reach out to us. We’re always here to help!
How Do I Send Digital Files to Absolute Colour Printing Sydney?
Our super easy UPLOAD ARTWORK form is your best bet. For any assistance, just call us at 1300 88 99 59. If your files are larger than 15mb email us and we’ll send you a link to your personal folder for upload.
How Do I Get a Quote?
Simple! Call Yvonne on 1300 88 99 59 or REQUEST A QUOTE ONLINE. We’re always happy to provide an obligation-free quote.
How Do I Make a PDF File?
Creating a print-ready PDF can be tricky. If it’s your first rodeo, give us a call on 1300 88 99 59. We’ll guide you through the process with ease. We are here to help – every step of the way.
How Long Does It Take to Complete My Order?
It depends on the job. But don’t fret – 95% of our jobs are completed within 4-5 business days after proof approval. Got a tight deadline? Let’s talk and see how we can make it happen!
How Long Until I Receive a Proof of My Job?
Expect your PDF proof within 3 business hours of sending us your files. We’re speedy like that!
Is White Considered a Printing Colour?
Not usually. White is the default paper colour, so it’s seen as the absence of ink. White ink is widely used for clear sticker printing. If you’re using coloured paper/card stock and need white ink, we can definitely make it happen.
Should I Compress My Files?
If you’re uploading via our online form, no need – we compress automatically. For email or FTP, compressing files is a great idea. It keeps everything tidy and easy to handle.
Tips for Saving Your Design Files
Most programs let you save or export to PDF. PDFs are print-friendly, embedding all the necessary fonts and graphics. They’re our preferred format! Just be sure to choose ‘high quality’ or ‘press quality’ then tick ‘Marks and Bleeds – Crop Marks.’ 3mm bleed is needed for any colour that prints to the edge of a page.
What Do I Need for Variable Data Projects?
We love CSV files – they’re simple and straightforward. Just ensure each piece of data is in separate fields. For more complex projects, call us. We’ll guide you through what’s needed.
What File Format Should I Use?
PDF is our favorite, but we can work with various formats. If in doubt, just ask!
What is Adobe PDF?
It’s the industry standard for printing, invented by Adobe. It handles text, graphics, images, and colour seamlessly across all computers and software. We love it!
What is a Proof?
A proof ensures your text is accurate and everything is positioned correctly. We’ll send you a PDF proof for checking and approval. Around 99% of printed orders are checked and approved this way.
Digitally printed proofs are available for checking final colour. These are not a press proof which means there will still be some colour variation if your order is being printed on an offset press.
What is the Pantone Matching System?
PMS is a colour standard that ensures consistency throughout the printing process. Each colour has a unique number, making precise matches a breeze.
What Other File Formats Do We Accept?
We prefer PDF but can work with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Microsoft Word and Excel. You will also need to send fonts and links to images used in your file.
What Products and Services Do We Provide?
We’re a full-service shop offering offset, digital, and large format printing. Check out the Products section on our website for the full list.
What Types of Paper Are Available?
We offer a wide variety of paper types, sizes, and colours. Call us to find the perfect match for your project.
Why Do Printed Colours Look Different from My Screen?
Monitors use RGB; commercial printers use CMYK. RGB can show more colours than CMYK, so some colours might look different in print. In addition to this, monitors show colour via a light source. Compared with viewing colour on paper, the monitor will always look brighter
For colour-critical projects, we recommend test prints and adjustments.
Will My Printed Colours Match My Screen?
Toner-based printers may not match PMS colours exactly, but we strive to get as close as possible. For precise colour matching, we recommend approving a proof first.
Can You Match a Print Sample?
Due to different technologies, we can’t guarantee an exact match, but we’ll get as close as possible. Approving a proof helps ensure you’re happy with the final product.
Thank you for choosing Absolute Colour Printing! We’re excited to work with you and bring your visions to life. If you have any questions or need assistance, don’t hesitate to call us at 1300 88 99 59. Happy printing, Sydney!
